is an enthusiastic, encyclopedic, and engaging instructor on the topics of Expressive Arts, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Therapeutic Storytelling, and the powerful overlap between ecological and psychological health. She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses, curated innumerable trainings, workshops, and retreats, and has been described as “infectiously wise and inspiring.” She has offered trainings in schools, parenting collectives, mental health agencies, group practices, and recovery centers. She also curates one-of-a-kind expressive arts rituals for weddings/handfastings, wheel of the year ceremonies, bridal and birth showers, and end-of-life celebrations. Julie King Murphy, LCMHCA, NCC, MA, JD

enjoys teaching a variety of creativity classes, especially painting and multimedia journaling and collage. Julie can also talk with your group or one-on-one about Expressive Arts Therapy, self-compassion, and mindfulness. Julie’s earlier career development included several roles within higher education, in career services and as an assistant dean of students. She is a popular retreat and workshop leader and loves engaging multi-generational women’s groups.
