Lughnasadh has long been a time of gathering, honoring the cycles of the earth, and telling stories that remind us who we are. Come immerse yourself in an ageless story about power, death, jealousy, hope, and the timeless cycling of wasteland into paradise and back again.
Lissa’s telling of this episode from the Cath Maighe Tuireadh will be interspersed with music and poetry and will offer time for personal work and reflection, writing, guided contemplation, and conversation. Stories, especially old stories, place us within the ecological net of belonging and help us to remember our responsibilities of tending. When we immerse ourselves in the tending of a story, we emerge with a renewed sense of the ongoing beauty and mystery of the world, and the hope that arises from knowing what is ours to do.
All proceeds from this gathering will go to the Gaelic Woodlands Project in honor of the ancient forest that co-created these mythologies, and in hopes that by reforesting sacred landscapes we may find a way toward a future that makes sense.
Ten in-person spots available; tea, herbal infusions, and light refreshment will be provided for in-person participants.
Online registration includes live participation as well as a recording of all storytelling portions of the immersion, all story exercises, and all writing prompts.
